Portable power stations compared for home outages

Nine LiFePO4 stations from EcoFlow, BLUETTI, Jackery, Anker SOLIX and ALLPOWERS, checked against manufacturer specs on October 12, 2026, and run through the same outage scenarios with the same math.

The short version: a 1,000–1,150Wh station (DELTA 2, SOLIX C1000, Explorer 1000 v2, AC180, R1500) keeps a typical fridge cold for about half a day, or Wi-Fi and lights going for well over a night. To run a fridge plus essentials through a 12-hour outage you need the 2,000Wh class (DELTA 2 Max, AC200L) — or an expandable 1,000Wh station with its add-on battery.

Which outage each station covers

✓ Covers = lasts even on our cautious estimate. Only just = lasts on the expected estimate only. + = falls short alone but would cover it with the maker’s expansion battery. CPAP results are estimates to test, never guarantees.

The stations

EcoFlow RIVER 2 Pro

768Wh in 18 lb: a night of Wi-Fi, lights and phones, or most of a night of fridge. 800W output limits what it can run. Sold out when checked.

EcoFlow DELTA 2

The default 1kWh pick: 1,800W output, 2,700W surge, 27 lb, and two ways to add battery later.

Anker SOLIX C1000

A well-rounded 1kWh station: 1,800W, 600W solar, fast charging and expandable to 2,112Wh. Make sure you’re looking at Gen 1.

Jackery Explorer 1000 v2

The lightest 1kWh station we cover (23.8 lb), with a fast UPS switch — but the lowest output (1,500W) and solar input in its class, and no expansion.

BLUETTI AC180

Joint-most battery in the 1kWh class (1,152Wh) with a 2,700W surge and a 20 ms UPS — but heavy for its size and not expandable.

ALLPOWERS R1500

The most capable spec sheet in the 1kWh class: 1,152Wh, 3,000W surge, 650W solar and expandable to 4,608Wh — from a less established brand.

EcoFlow DELTA 2 Max

2,048Wh with the highest surge we cover (4,800W) — the step up for fridge-plus-essentials outages. Sold out at EcoFlow US when checked.

BLUETTI AC200L

2,048Wh with the most solar input (1,200W) and the biggest expansion ceiling (8,192Wh) we cover — at 62 lb.

BLUETTI EB3A

Discontinued. 268Wh and 10 lb: a few hours of Wi-Fi and lights. Too small for a fridge or a full CPAP night with humidifier.

How to read these numbers

Battery (Wh) decides how long. Running power (W) decides what can run at the same time. Surge (W) decides whether motors and compressors — a fridge, a pump — can start. All nine use LiFePO4 batteries, which tolerate thousands of charge cycles; cycle claims aren’t comparable across brands because they use different end points (80% vs 70% capacity, or none stated). Our runtime guide walks through the math.
